The question I get most often from people when they call for help with roaches is: Why is it so expensive? My service is pretty comprehensive and involves several visits to make sure that each life cycle of the roach is targeted using multiple products to achieve the goal of roach elimination.

So why can’t I just go out and spray some bug juice in a few rooms and get rid of the roaches people are seeing in the kitchen? There are several answers to that question. One is that it is very unprofessional to think that roaches can be eliminated with just one visit. Why? Because if you research the food roach, a.k.a. the German roach, you will find that a single gravid roach, a single roach carrying an egg capsule, holds 48 baby roaches. Once that egg hatches, you now have 48 roaches running around, making other babies, and growing faster than wildfire. Think about it. Over a period of a few weeks to months, you can have hundreds, if not thousands, of roaches.

You might not see all those thousands of roaches, as they hide behind outlet covers, switch plates, in the motor of your fridge, in your oven, microwave, coffee maker, bedroom dressers, bathroom cabinets, and pipe chases. They don’t usually make themselves known until the area they are hiding out in becomes too full and they have to pack up and look for a living space of their own.

Now you bring in a professional pest control company like Grove Pest Control, and they propose to eliminate your roach problem is going to cost a pretty penny, and it’s going to take 3 to 4 visits. This treatment includes taking the time to inspect; it requires the proper chemicals to be used, namely a non-repellent; it takes monitors; it takes baits and several kinds of baits; and it takes growth regulators. The time and material and know-how all take money.

I’ve had customers tell me they have been trying to treat for them for months and they keep coming back, and worse than before! What the customer doesn’t realize is that they are probably making the problem worse and spreading the roaches to other areas of the home. Roach work can be very tedious, and it takes the proper chemicals to achieve elimination.

This is why roach jobs cost so much money, but worth every penny.
