Do mice, ants and roaches dare to challenge the sanctity of church? They do. When you think about it, aside from the religious part of the congregation, the rest is all real estate. Churches are like any commercial pest control stop as it’s a place where people congregate, and where people congregate, so do pests. Let’s break it down.

In my own town of WIllow Grove, Pennsylvania there are a number of churches of all denominations. They all have a physical church building where people worship, an area to gather for fellowship like a church hall, attached to that hall is a commercial kitchen, there are often day cares or actual schools associated with a church, a place where the priests and nuns live or the reverend or whoever is leading that church.

Church- Many opportunities for mice to enter and set up shop. Ants and roaches are also more common that you think and dare I say, bedbugs! People from all walks of life sit in the pews or worship seats and bugs like to travel.

Church Hall- As mentioned before this is a place to gather and have bingo nights or parties, Etc. Tahe commercial kitchens attached to these halls come with all the common pests any commercial kitchens come with. Drain flies, fruit flies, roaches, mice, and ants.

The Rectory, Convent, or Parsonage- All the same issues a common house would have these building would have and sometimes more. These buildings aside from providing lodging for the leaders of the church also have meeting rooms and offices. The more people, the more pests and bugs.

Schools and Daycares- Need I say more. Schools and daycares, with their lunches and messy kids, food crumbs from snack and lunch time, and school bags to carry pests from home in, are bigtime service areas.

Gyms- Sometimes the gym attaches to the school and sometimes it’s a separate building. Mice love these areas because they are warm.

So, churches are a major part of the pest control companies’ route in a day. We service several and treat each one as if it’s our own place of worship.
